A recent and interesting classification of competences in the tourism sector is provided by the “Competence Framework for Tourism, the Arts and Cultural Heritage” (TAH-CF) developed within the project “Experiential Tourism and Interpretation of Cultural Heritage”.
The professions are organized in 4 classes: professions mainly oriented towards Tourist Activities, professions mainly oriented towards the “Arts and Entertainment”, professions mainly oriented towards “Cultural Heritage”, professions specialized in Tourist Services. Each profession is described in terms of tasks, EQF level, requirements, reference legislations. This framework is intended to be a starting point to be revised and validated by the various stakeholders of the cultural tourism chain.
